Formations

Formations are used in Conqueror's Blade for the targeted control of units. Different formations are available for each unit. Some of these must be unlocked in the unit's Veterancy skill tree. The following formations exist:

Melee-Formations

Dispersed

The units forms a sprea-out square formation to lessen the impact of ranged attacks.

Schiltron

Sergeants mit Speer Schiltronformation.jpg The unit forms a ring to defend anything in the centre.

Shield Wall

Sergeants mit Speer Schildwall.jpg The shild wall is a tightly packed formation intended to defend in one direction.

Turtle

Sergeants mit Speer Schildkrötenformation.jpg The units stands in a tight defensive formation, unsing their shields to protect all sides.

Column

A narrow formation effective for charging unter enemy fire.

Line

The units forms two staggered rows. Effective when advencing. Slight increase in anti-charge defence.

Block

A dense formation intended to enhance the unit's defences.

Cover Commander

The unit keeps their commander in the centre of the formation.

Schield

Soldiers stand in a tight defensive formation, countering frontal attacks. Enhances impact resisance.

Ranged-Formations

Dispersed

The units forms a sprea-out square formation to lessen the impact of ranged attacks.

Wings

The units splits into two echelons to enhance melee strength.

Horns

A two-pronged formation, good for attacking enemies to the front.

Three Ranks

The units forms three ranks. Good for cencentrating fire.

Block

The units arranges itself into a block of even density.


Cavalry-Formations

Dispersed

The units forms a sprea-out square formation to lessen the impact of ranged attacks.

Line

The unit stands in two ranks, making it superior at making frontal attacks.

Wedge

The units forms a wedge-shaped formation to break through enemy lines.

Serpent Formation

The unit stands in two criss-crossing ranks, making it superior at making frontal attacks.

Horns

The unit forms a two-winged, v-shaped formation. Effective for forwar attacks.
